Palasë is the Riviera's opening act: the first beach you reach after the Llogara descent, a wide arc of pale pebbles beneath the Ceraunian wall. The water here is famously clear — the seabed drops away quickly, which keeps it clean and a deep, glassy blue.
It's quieter than Dhërmi next door, though a new resort quarter has brought smart hotels and restaurants to one end. The other end stays simple: sunbeds, a few bars, and paragliders drifting down from the pass above.
Modern seafront hotels and apartments at the developed end of the beach, with pools, restaurants and direct beach access.
Up in Palasë village, family guesthouses offer terraces with sea views and home cooking at half the resort price.
Five minutes south, Dhërmi has the bigger spread of hotels if Palasë is full.
Seafood and Mediterranean menus right on the pebbles at the resort end.
In the old village above, tavernas serve goat, greens, olive oil and wine produced on these hillsides.
Simple bars along the free section keep you in cold drinks and toasties all day.
Flights from Llogara touch down on the beach itself most summer afternoons — or book one and arrive that way.
The beach runs well over a kilometre — walk to the southern rocks for snorkelling and near-empty water.
Climb to Palasë village for sunset over the sea with the mountains turning pink behind you.
