Qeparo
The winding road up from Qeparo beach ends in a different century. Qeparo i Sipërm — Upper Qeparo — is a maze of stone houses, arched doorways and lanes barely wide enough for two people, draped over the hillside with the Ionian filling every gap between buildings.
Emigration emptied much of it; slow revival is filling it back in, with restored houses becoming guesthouses and a café-terrace or two opening onto that immense view. It remains the quietest beautiful place on the Riviera — go gently, and give it the unhurried hour it deserves.
A narrow switchback road climbs from Qeparo beach (5–10 minutes by car — take it slowly). Park at the village edge and continue on foot; the lanes aren't for vehicles.
Free, open, and lived-in — respect homes and gardens as you wander. There's no ticket office because there's no attraction here except all of it.
Late afternoon for the light, early morning for the silence. Flat shoes with grip for the stone lanes, and water — the village has limited services.
Qeparo's long, relaxed pebble shore is ten minutes back down the hill.
Porto Palermo Castle is five minutes south — village and fortress make a perfect half-day.
