Know before you go

Pishë Poro sits within the Vjosa–Narta Protected Landscape, where the Vjosa river reaches the Adriatic and spreads into lagoons, salt marshes and coastal pine forest. Narta Lagoon, just to the south, is famous for its flamingos, and the area is important for migrating birds and nesting sea turtles.

The beach itself is long, sandy and largely undeveloped, and the steady afternoon wind makes it a favourite with kitesurfers. It's a place for nature rather than facilities — bring what you need.

Getting to Pishë Poro and access in 2026

Getting there

Pishë Poro is reached on rural roads off the main road between Fier and Vlorë, near Novoselë — roughly 30–40 minutes from either.

Access in 2026

Since spring 2026, construction works inside parts of the protected landscape have fenced off some sections of the coast and access roads. Check locally before you set off.

The beach

Long and sandy, with dunes and pines behind. There are very few services, so bring water, shade and food.

Birdwatching

Spring and autumn migration are the best times. Flamingos gather on Narta Lagoon, next to Zvërnec.

Kitesurfing

Afternoon winds make this one of the best-known kitesurfing spots on the coast, with a small kite school in season.

Respect the area

Stay on existing tracks, take your rubbish home and keep away from nesting areas on the beach.

Where to stay

Beach cabins

A few simple cabins are run alongside the kite school and beach bar in summer.

Vlorë

For a full choice of hotels, Vlorë is about half an hour south.

Stay in Fier

Fier has the widest choice of hotels in the area and puts Apollonia, Ardenica and the beaches all within half an hour.
